Daniel Paul Wilberding

Danny WilberdingDaniel Paul Wilberding, 28, of Carlinville, IL, formerly of Davenport, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 23, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by his family, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer and a lifetime struggle with Neurofibromatosis.

Danny was born in Davenport, on July 19, 1988, and was the son of William and Jill (Gisch) Wilberding. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, and father who put his family before all things. His son, Blaze, and daughter, Zoey were his proudest accomplishments, and he was devoted to them. Danny was also a fierce and loyal friend who could always find the good in people. He loved all things sports and was the biggest Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Blackhawks fan.

Danny grew up in Davenport and moved to Carlinville in 2003. He graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 2007, and then attended Lewis and Clark Community College before he was employed at First to the Finish in Carlinville.

He is survived by his parents, William and Jill Wilberding of Carlinville; sisters, Jennifer Wilberding of Springfield, Illinois, and Amanda (Andrew) Zajicek of St. Louis; his children, Blaze and Zoey, and their mother, Pamela (Mathias) Wilberding of Carlinville; grandparents, Paul and Anna Mae (Runde) Gisch of Dubuque; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alan and Joan (Moran) Wilberding.
