Everette Joshua “EJ” Montoya

Everette Joshua MontoyaSenior Airman Everette Joshua “EJ” Montoya (Retired) born May 24, 1989, in Sacramento, CA, went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2017, in Newcastle, CA, after an extensive two-year battle with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, a rare form of Sarcoma Cancer.

EJ was a 2007 graduate of Del Oro High School in Loomis, CA, and a member of the CA Air National Guard. He enlisted in the US Air Force on August 28, 2011, and began his career as a C-17 Crew Chief with the 945th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and was a member of the Base honor guard with the Air Force Reserve at Travis AFB. He ended the last three years of his career as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst with the 234th Intelligence Squadron in the CA Air National Guard at Beale AFB. He medically retired from the CA Air National Guard on June 27, 2016.

EJ was known for his infectious smile and big heart. He leaves behind a wife Alivia C. Montoya, son Carter J. Montoya (5), father Everette M. Montoya, mother Maria Teresa Dean, step father Charles Dean, sister Sonia Dean, sister Kayla Dean, and countless extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank all doctors and nurses at David Grant Medical Center on Travis AFB, Stanford Medical Center, and Vitas Hospice for there continued support.

In lieu of flowers, EJ requested that donations be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America in his memory.
