Zulma Cordero was born in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico on May 26, 1940. in the 1950’s, she and her family moved to Brooklyn, New York. She married Israel Cordero in July of 1961 and had 3 sons, who were the center of her universe. In 2004, Zulma moved to Wesley Chapel to be close to family. She enjoyed many healthy years in FL before her diagnosis of sarcoma in her pelvis in June 2012. She subsequently underwent surgery at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa in July and moved into a new home in September that was more accessible for her now limited mobility. She enjoyed her new home for only a few months when the tumor came back with a vengeance in November. Due to the aggressive nature of the disease, there was no longer any viable treatment options. Zulma passed away on December 23, 2012…surrounded by her large, loving family.
