State Chapters

The mission of the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) is to advocate for increased research to find new and better therapies with which to treat patients with Sarcoma. In order to fulfill our mission and increase our grassroots outreach, the organization is currently establishing SFA State Chapters with a goal of having a State Chapter Leader in all 50 states. When you join the SFA you will automatically be a member of your state’s chapter and notified of any SFA-related activities that are going on in your area. If you would like to assist your Chapter Leader in planning SFA activities in your state, please send them an email.

SFA Fundraisers

For those interested in putting on a fundraiser, the point of contact is SFA Development Director, Jennifer Dotson. If you would like to have a fundraiser or have any questions, please contact her at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 301-253-8687. The SFA has tools for you to use such as our Fundraising Handbook, website assistance and online donations, marketing assistance and additional tools and suggestions to make the most of your fundraising activities.

Because of the grassroots nature of the Sarcoma Foundation of America, we are relying on your local ingenuity to develop ideas for fundraising for sarcoma research. But rest assured that we will help facilitate your efforts so that you can have a successful event! Possible fundraising ideas can range from a cocktail reception or happy hour, wine tasting, bowling tournament, lemonade stand, garage sale, carwash, organization of a local run/walk, or hosting of a dinner at home, to the staging of larger events like golf tournaments and Gala’s.

Volunteer for the SFA

The Sarcoma Foundation of America welcomes all volunteers! Please register as a member of the SFA and then you will get on a mailing list for any local and national activities and fundraisers that the SFA is sponsoring. You may also contact your States Chapter Leader by going your Chapters page and click on your state. Some states are still setting up their local organizations.
