Upcoming Fundraisers

SFA Fundraisers

For those interested in putting on a fundraiser, the point of contact is SFA Development Director, Jennifer Dotson. If you would like to have a fundraiser or have any questions, please contact her at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 301-253-8687. The SFA has tools for you to use such as our Fundraising Handbook, website assistance and online donations, marketing assistance and additional tools and suggestions to make the most of your fundraising activities.

Because of the grassroots nature of the Sarcoma Foundation of America, we are relying on your local ingenuity to develop ideas for fundraising for sarcoma research. But rest assured that we will help facilitate your efforts so that you can have a successful event! Possible fundraising ideas can range from a cocktail reception or happy hour, wine tasting, bowling tournament, lemonade stand, garage sale, carwash, organization of a local run/walk, or hosting of a dinner at home, to the staging of larger events like golf tournaments and Gala’s.

Below is a list of Sarcoma Foundation of America fundraisers going on in the US to help raise funds to find new treatments for sarcoma. Please get involved!

Cards for a Sarcoma Cure

Jan 27, 2010 • Nationwide

On June 30, 2009, when Annina was 12-1/2 years old, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.  Soon after she started her seven-months of intensive treatment she decided she wanted to devote time to raising money for cancer awareness and research.  Annina’s family found the KidsAreStars.com web site, which has enabled her to put her water color pencil and felt pen artwork on greeting cards to raise money for The Sarcoma Foundation of America.  (Designs include flowers, Valentine’s Day, peace sign and more.)  Annina’s story appears on the back of her cards.

KidsAreStars.com donates $9 per box of cards sold to The Sarcoma Foundation of America! There’s more!  Any kids can participate in this fundraiser – They just need to send in one or more drawings via email or regular mail – and tell KidsAreStars.com they would like to participate in the fundraiser for The Sarcoma Foundation of America!  There is no minimum order.  So tell your friends!

Scott’s Sprint for Sarcoma Reseach

Apr 24, 2010 • Tennessee

Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer.  I believe we can make a difference together.  On April 24th, I will be running in the Music City 1/2 marathon to honor my nephew Scott who was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in November 2007.  Despite this, Scott is 18 years old, is a great big brother to Jake and Bailey, he has continues to excel at school and has been thriving as a freshman at Southeast Missouri State.  At this time, however, the Sarcoma has returned and his is now battling this disease for the third time.  My goal in crossing the finish line is to help raise money to help cure Sarcoma.  I am asking friends and family to help support Scott’s Sprint fo Sarcoma Research.

Thanks!
