Andrew “Andy” L. Kick

Andrew “Andy” L. Kick of Onalaska, WI, devoted husband, father, and friend, died on November 16, 2017, at the age of 48. Andy was born in La Crosse, WI on October 1, 1969, and grew up in Bangor. He was an outstanding student, and a natural athlete, but because of his duties on the family farm, he was only able to play basketball. He set a number of school records for the Bangor Cardinals, and is best known for “the shot” to win the sectional semi-final game against Eleva-Strum in 1988. Andy was elected to the Bangor High School Athletic Hall of Fame in February 2017.

Andy attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1992. He started his career as a financial auditor for McGladrey & Pullen in St. Paul, MN. After 11 years, Andy became CFO at Lake States Lumber Company and his family moved back to Onalaska in 2005.

Andy was a devoted Packers and Badgers fan, and a lover of the outdoors – especially the Rocky Mountains. The Kick family would take numerous family vacations, sometimes by RV, to Andy’s beloved Rocky Mountain National Park. Andy was active in his church, coached basketball for several of his kids’ teams, and loved watching them play. Andy was one of the good guys in this world, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Andy is survived by; his wife Ann (Wappler); his children Isabelle, Lauren, and Sam; his mother Alberta; his sisters Judy (Don) Murphy of Billings, MT; Debbie Kick of Wauwatosa, WI; Angie (Mike) Stewart of Madison, WI; Agnes (Jamie) Dillenbeck of Walworth, WI; Millie Kick of Bangor, Wi; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
