Donna DelVecchio

candleDonna (Hesser) DelVecchio finally found peace Friday, April 14, 2017, after a long and valiant fight with sarcoma cancer. Initially diagnosed with cancer in August of 2014, doctors in January 2015, gave her only a few weeks to live. Her faith and desire to be with family and friends gave her the strength and will to live fully and to persist against this terrible disease.

Donna is survived by her loving and caring husband, Larry, who was her devoted partner throughout her life; and her children, Alex and Christina, who meant the moon to her. She also is survived by her loving parents, George and Nancy (Brown) Hesser; her brother and sisters, Robert Hesser (Jeannine), Christine Hesser (Margaret Mary Burke), and Jennifer McErlean (John); and six nieces and nephews, whom she adored, and loved spending time with them.

Through Donna’s love of bowling, she met many wonderful friends who became extended family. She would be upset that we cannot name everyone individually, who gave her support and love throughout her life. However, a few friends in particular, Diane (DeDe) Gudknecht, and Michael and Tami Italia, whom Donna considered part of her family, were especially devoted to her through this long and devastating illness.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Donna’s name may be sent to the Sarcoma Foundation of America www.curesarcoma.org.
