Evalynne Blackwell

Evalynne (Lynne) Blackwell entered this world January 17, 1967, Kansas City, Kansas, to the parentage of Sandra and Harold Kitchen Jr., Lynne answered the Saviors call on September 7, 2017, celebrating 50 years of life.

Lynne accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at First Baptist Church of Quindaro. It was through a strong church affiliation, God-fearing family, and most importantly the Master’s hand that she developed her faith and unwavering love of GOD.

She received her formal education attending Kansas City Kansas Public Schools graduating from F.L. Schlagle High School in 1985. She then matriculated to Kansas State University where she majored in Business Management, during this time she became a member of the Kappa Sweethearts.

Lynne joined the United States Air Force in May 1990 and became a Dental Assistant. During her military career, she received numerous decorations and accolades, and earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree. She was honorably discharged November 1999.

She continued her education receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Saint Leo College in May 1998, and having an unquenchable thirst for knowledge she received a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Troy State University June 2000.

Upon Lynne’s separation from military service she embarked on her post military careers as a staffing analyst and a senior human resources specialist supporting organizations in the private and public sectors to include Northrop Grumman, Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Department of Homeland Security where she served until her call home from her Heavenly Father.

It was during her time supporting the Department of Defense that she met her best friend, soulmate, and husband David Blackwell, they were joined in Holy Matrimony September 4, 2004. Through the years their love for one another grew stronger. Lynne was a committed loving wife and companion; Dave and Lynne were truly GOD’s blessings to each other. During Lynne’s illness Dave was constantly by her side and at her beckon call.

Lynne was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, aunt mama, and friend. She was an inspiration to many, if she called you family or friend you felt her love. Her wit and love for life was contagious to those around her.  She was genuinely a beautiful person inside and out.

Lynne had numerous life passions that included cycling, picture painting, traveling, and visiting family and friends.  She took great pride in hosting and providing a great time for all. If you were ever her guest you received the royal treatment. One who took her fitness serious Lynne was an active member of the Getting It In Cycling Club and also served as secretary.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents as well as her mother Sandra and father Harold. She leaves to cherish her memories husband David, stepdaughter

Lauren, brother Tony(Eva) Franklin, sister Tonya(Lou)Stokes, brothers Raymond(Anita)Kitchen, Harold Kitchen, sisters Kimberly Carter and Kelli Kitchen, a special uncle Reverend Chiffie (Loella)Tomlin Sr, cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and a host of relatives and friends. GOD reigns!
