Support Sarcoma Research on Giving Tuesday
November 30, 2021 @ 12:00 am UTC-4
The heart of the Sarcoma Foundation of America is research and donors like you have made SFA the leading research and sarcoma patient advocacy organization in the country.
Join SFA for the #GivingTuesday Global Campaign
On the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving each year, November 30th, people all over the world come together and donate for #GivingTuesday. We are always awestruck by the sense of community created when millions of people collectively support charitable organizations on a single day.
SFA is reaching out to let everyone in our community of friends, supporters, and volunteers know that this campaign is another unique way to connect with the sarcoma community and support vital research.
With the help of our 2020 #GivingTuesday donors we were able to fund a research grant in honor of everyone who supported this important initiative. Sujith Joseph, Ph.D. of Baylor College of Medicine was awarded this grant. His research focuses on an immunotherapy in which genetically engineered immune cells called CAR T cells target a protein called endoglin on cancer cells in Ewing Sarcoma. He will test this treatment alone and in combination with another immune therapy that takes the brakes off of the patient’s immune system.
With the simple act of donating those supporters were able to help fund translational research that will advance sarcoma science and lead to new sarcoma therapies.
Our goal for 2021 #GivingTuesday – to raise $55,000 in 24 hours to fund a 2022 research grant.
Here are a few ways you can help:
- Tell your friends and family about this important effort and ask them to support our shared goal of funding research in sarcoma.
- Make a donation through our website.
- Make a donation through our Facebook fundraiser. Facebook will match the 1st $2 million raised with a one-to-one match. 10% of the next $5 million will be matched after that.
Don’t want to wait to contribute? You can make your donation today.
Whether you donate financially, promote this event through your social circles, set up a Facebook giving campaign, start a personal fundraising campaign, or encourage others to support you through one of our Race to Cure Sarcoma events, know that SFA is so grateful for your support of our mission.
Thanks for your consideration. Let’s work together to find a cure in our time.
