DougHaroDoug Haro was born in Stockton, California on August 22, 1948, to Fred and Marilyn Haro. In 1964 Doug met the love of his life, Maxine Severin at Calvary Baptist Church in Stockton California. They were married May 11, 1967. Doug enlisted in the Army in 1967 and did a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 in the First Air Cavalry.

Doug and Maxine then raised two children, Wendi and Brannon Haro. In 1973 Doug made a career in law enforcement with Stockton Police Department, where he served in areas of patrol, traffic, narcotics, training officer, D.A.R.E program and then retired in 2000. He soon returned part time to continue with the D.A.R.E program and spent two years as a bailiff for San Joaquin County Sheriff in California. Doug was very active in several churches in California.

In 2005 Doug and Maxine Haro retired in Mountain Home, Arkansas where they attend church at Christ Community. On Saturday Feb, 28, 2015, at 6:20 am, Doug lost his battle with (undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma) cancer. He was at his home, surrounded by his loving family when he was lifted peacefully to the arms of Jesus. Throughout Doug’s diagnosis and fight he held strong to his faith in Christ and never wavered at the opportunity to share God’s love and Grace with those who crossed his path.

Doug is survived by his loving wife Maxine, his dedicated children Wendi and Brannon Haro and his daughter in law Jennifer. He is also survived by his parents Fred and Marilyn and his step mother Beverly Haro. Doug has four grandsons, Alex Landeros III, Austin Haro, Dylan Haro, Ryan Haro and countless others that have been blessed by his heart.

A memorial service in Doug’s honor will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at Christ Community Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas and Crossroads Grace Community Church in Manteca, California at a later date.
