Dr. Steven S. WillibrandDr. Steven S. Willibrand returned to the Lord peacefully and surrounded by love on February 11, 2016, at the age of 57. Steve bravely battled Synovial Sarcoma for 4 years. He is survived by his parents, James and Eleanor Willibrand. Steve was a beloved and dedicated husband for 36 years to his wife Lori (nee Hanhardt) Willibrand. Dear Father to his children, daughter Courtney Willibrand Proctor, son in law Rick Proctor, and son Tyler Willibrand. Brother and sister in law, George and Lee Murray; Uncle to Emily Murray, Julie Murray Kozikowski, Hope and Hannah Sterkel. Recently thrilled to become great uncle to Oliver Kozikowski; and a dear friend to many. Steve was preceded in death by his sister Christy (nee Willibrand) Murray; his mother and father in law, Annette Hanhardt and Raymond Hanhardt.

Dr. Steve, as his beloved patients called him, graduated top of his class at UMKC Dental School and practiced dentistry for 30 years. He loved to get out and see the wonders of God’s creation in nature and animals. He loved the mountains of Colorado, was an avid skier in the winter, and loved hiking the mountain trails in the summer. Being an outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish; he enjoyed going to his farm as much as possible, planting crops, chopping trees and feeding his albino catfish in the lake. Steve was a wonderful dentist, but a wanna be farmer at heart. Steve was loved for his booming laugh and smile that filled a room. His last several years were tough but he was a fighter.
