Karen A. Knudson

Karen A. Knudson was born July 19, 1961, in Jamestown, ND, and passed away September 27, 2017, in Dallas, TX, surrounded by her family.

Karen is survived by her parents Dale and Norine Knudson, Pingree, ND; sister Kathy Knudson Moore (Mike) and beloved nephews Grant and Zach, Garland, TX; uncle Duane Knudson (Lois), Jamestown, ND; uncle Mark Knudson (Suzanne), Dallas, TX; uncle Dick Wilkinson (Cathy), Bloomington, MN; aunt Mary Bell Knudson, Castle Rock, CO; and many favorite cousins throughout the United States.

Karen was preceded in death by her brother Kevin, grandparents W.E. and June Knudson, Alex and Nadine Wilkinson, aunt Bev and uncle Milt Bultema and uncle Dennis Knudson.

Growing up in Pingree, ND, Karen graduated from Pingree High School in 1979 and went on to graduate from North Dakota State University in 1983 with a degree in Computer Science.  After graduation she moved to Dallas and accepted a position at Texas Instruments and was currently employed by Raytheon.  Karen’s passions were her family especially her nephews Grant and Zach, travel, photography, golf and reading.  She visited all 50 states by her 50th year and she had covered many countries on 4 continents.  Her new goal was to visit all 59 of the National Parks and 22 had already been checked off her list and map.  Throughout her travels Karen documented all the amazing places she had seen, with her cameras creating journals, blogs and books beautifully outlining her travels and the places she had visited.  She also used her photography skills to document all of the important and special moments of her family.  She was a lover of animals and she is now with her beautiful Golden Retriever, Boo Dog, but she had to leave behind her Billie Cat.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Habitat for Humanity or the Sarcoma Foundation of America.
