My Sarcoma Story – Adelina
When I was 15 a small lump appeared on my arm. When the lump didn’t go away I went to the doctors, where it was dismissed as a minor muscle growth. However, as it continued to grow significantly over the next year, I went to get a second opinion at a different hospital. There, at 16, l was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. Shortly after, I underwent surgery and began intensive treatment my regimen consisting of 14 to 16 rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and tumor resection surgery, spanning approximately 10 months of treatment. Now, a year into remission, I feel grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness and share my story.
