Nate Boothby
In loving memory of Nate Boothby.
Nathan “Nate” W. Boothby, 38, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, after a four year battle with cancer. Born in Kokomo, Indiana, Nate was the son of Jack and Ruthanne Boothby. He graduated from Western High School and earned his bachelors degree in Electrical Engineer Technology from Purdue University and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. He worked with Navistar for 11 years prior to working up to the end of his life at Ultra Electronics as Production Program Manager.
Nate was a wonderful son, a loving husband, a caring dad, and an awesome, “smart ass” friend. His life revolved around his family, especially his wife Amber, and his two children, Harbor and Cannon. When Nate wasn’t working he enjoyed relaxing on the boat with a beer in his hand or working on a project around the house. Nate also enjoyed being outside, shooting, watching Purdue Football, was always up for a good political debate, listening to music, and being around family and friends. Nate highly disliked bees, and was not prompt for anything, and everything in life was a competition (he didn’t handle losing well). Nate loved to learn and with that knowledge he always passed it on to his children. He left his unique impression on those he met and that will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his wife, Amber Boothby of Fort Wayne; children, Harbor Boothby, Cannon Boothby; parents, Jack and Ruthanne Boothby of Kokomo; brother, Matthew (Beth) Boothby of Bloomington and children (Alex, Eli, Kaitlyn); grandpa, Jack Boothby; brother-in- laws, Riley Hudson of Fort Wayne, Tyler Hudson of Muncie, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
A Celebration of Nate’s Life will be at 6 pm, Friday, September 29, 2017, with a time for food and fellowship beginning at 5 pm and extending until 9 pm at Ceruti’s Summit Park, 6601 Innovation Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
