Mark-Sarcoma Cancer Research and Treatment

Dr. Thornton is co-founder and volunteers as President of the Sarcoma Foundation of America, Inc. and is a Senior Clinical and Regulatory consultant at Biologics Consulting Group (BCG). He received his MD and PhD from West Virginia University and his Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.  As a Clinical Pharmacologist and Trialist, Dr. Thornton divided his 20-year career in the FDA and in the biotechnology industry equally between oncology and infectious disease biologics clinical development.  However, in his 10 years at BCG, his primary focus is assisting companies developing therapies for cancer, including sarcoma.   As a Patient advocate he has published six Op-Eds in the Wall Street Journal on the need for regulatory reform at the FDA to streamline the approval processes for drugs for rare cancers.
