Darryl D’Ateno

Having joined Sarcoma Foundation of America in 2021 as the Community Engagement Manager, Darryl oversees community races and events that take place in various cities across the country. Darryl has worked with numerous nonprofit organizations such as Fannie Mae Foundation, Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, NAACP, and most recently the National Breast Cancer Coalition. Prior to his work in the nonprofit sector, Darryl served his country in the United States Marine Corps and as an officer with the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff’s Office in New Orleans, LA. Darryl is still an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in Washington, D.C., where he serves as a Lodge Committee member alongside the FOP Board of Directors.

Originally from New York, Darryl has been in the Washington, D.C. area since 2002. He currently resides in Upper Marlboro, MD, with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, Darryl enjoys riding his Harley and relaxing with some scotch or bourbon, while smoking a cigar.
