Dean Frohlich, PhD
Dean has over 10 years of experience in scientific review and grant administration. He was the Scientific Review Officer at Conquer Cancer from 2013-2020 and the Program Administrator for Stand Up to Cancer at the American Association for Cancer Research from 2010-2013. In those positions, he has been responsible for the development of grant policies, procedures, and guidelines for applicants and reviewers; the analysis programmatic processes and make recommendations for improvement; and represented professional organizations at meetings with partnering organizations.
Prior to his work in scientific review, he conducted research in prostate cancer. From 2004 to 2010, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) at the National Institutes of Health on the role of the transcription factor NRF2 in oxidative stress and hormone metabolism in prostate cancer. From 1996 to 2004, Dr. Frohlich first earned his BS degree in Clinical Laboratory Science with an emphasis on Chemistry from the University of North Dakota and followed by a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology also from the University of North Dakota.
