Like most in the sarcoma advocacy community, you are probably very well acquainted with July as Sarcoma Awareness Month.  You’ve no doubt heard of September being known as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  Hopefully you’ve also become familiar with the last day in February being set aside for Rare Disease Day.  As you know, each of these campaigns gives us special opportunities to bring awareness to the needs of sarcoma patients, caregivers, and survivors.  SFA supporters like you always step up and help us make our voices especially loud during those times.

Perhaps you didn’t know that this month also commemorates a special group of people who deserve recognition, as April is officially designated as National Volunteer Month.  We recognize the supporters from around the country that help us lift up the voices of sarcoma warriors and their families and rally together to help us advocate for new and novel therapies for sarcoma. While each of our sarcoma experiences are different, together we can make the world a better place for all sarcoma warriors.

It’s our turn to loudly thank all of the dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time, energy, and funds to support the mission of the Sarcoma Foundation of America.

A special thanks to our Board members who dedicate their time and talents to our cause….

To our volunteer chapter leaders…

To supporters who come together for our fundraising gala each year…

To family members and friends who decide to raise money in support of or in honor of a sarcoma warrior…

To the advocates who travel to Washington, DC, to meet with legislators about the needs of the sarcoma community…advocates

To the warriors who come forward wanting to make a difference while in the battle for their life…

To everyone who helps as a volunteer, we THANK YOU!

And to quote the late businessman and philanthropist Henry Ford, “If everyone is moving forward together, success takes care of itself.”

With our amazing volunteers, we will be the most successful and work toward the ultimate goal of finding a cure for sarcoma.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
