Denis M. Fiore

Denis M. Fiore, 77, of Chestnut Lane, passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by his loving family at home Friday, Dec. 11, 2015.

Born and educated in New York City, he was the son of the late Cosmo and Irene Mayo Fiore.

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Mr. Fiore went on to a distinguished 37-year career at Nabisco in East Hanover, New Jersey, where he was a chemist.

In recent years, he was a member and treasurer of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clifton Park, also attending services at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in South Glens Falls, where his wife is pastor. Mr. Fiore enjoyed classical music and opera, as well as collecting Lionel trains, photography, hiking and skiing. He had a passion for travel and a deep love of the desert landscape of the Southwest.

The Fiore family formerly resided in Peekskill and Succasunna, New Jersey. They currently have a second residence in Mesa, Arizona.

Denis Fiore was for 54 years the beloved husband of Pastor Joyce C. Fossmo Fiore of Clifton Park; and was the devoted father of Cheryl L. Fiore of Troy and Eric J. (and Yolanda) Fiore of Phillipsburg, New Jersey; and the loving brother of Dorothy Mayo of Pine Plains. He was the cherished grandfather of Ivan and Edwin Antunez; and great-grandfather of Sophia, Jacob, Cesar and the late Ava Marie and Alivia Sanaa Antunez.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9899 Main St., Suite 204, Damascus, MD 20872 in memory of Denis M. Fiore.
