Ajoy Datta

Ajoy Datta was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of chondrosarcoma in August 2017. He underwent surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation treatment during the course of his battle with the disease. He ultimately passed away in May 2019. Throughout this time, he maintained a smile and positive outlook on life and faced the challenge with much courage and grace. He was a professor of computer science at UNLV and taught there for 30 years. He absolutely loved mentoring his students and continued teaching up until his passing. He also loved to spend time with his wife and daughter, especially traveling with them to various countries. He is extremely missed by his family, friends, and students. We would appreciate any donations to sarcoma research in his memory so we can continue the fight against this rare disease.
